Drug pusher killed in Cebu City shootout

A DRUG pusher died in a shootout with police around 2 a.m. Thursday, May 19, in Barangay Sudlon 2, Cebu City.

Police identified the fatality as Teodoro "Doroy" Cabriana.

The team from City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (CAIDSOTG) conducted the drug bust against the suspect.

Senior Inspector Eunil Avergonzado, CAIDSOTG chief, said it was Cabriana who opened fire at them after the suspect noticed he was dealing with police officers.

One of the CAIDSOTG operatives retaliated and hit Cabriana in the chest.

The suspect was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Seized from Cabriana were packs of shabu that weigh more than 100 grams. The contraband is worth P1.2 million in street sales.

A .45 pistol was also recovered from the suspect.

Avergonzado said Cabriana was a level two drug pusher and has been in the list of top ten drug personalities operating in Cebu City.
