THE Activity and Play Lounge celebrated its second anniversary by organizing a fun “Paint Buffet” party for children aged two to 12 years old! Upon registration, the children get to choose their design to paint.
The themes for this paint buffet party revolved around the “Hues of Summer.” The designs to choose from were entitled “Fun in the Sun,” “Colorful Me,” and “The Calm Sea.” Upon entering the lounge, they were welcomed by a paint buffet table having different colors of paint and other media they can use!
Then they were asked to don their aprons and get ready to unleash their creativity. Each child was given a pallet so that they can independently indulge in the paint buffet and get the colors and combine the hues that they wish to create. They were then guided by teachers into following a step-by-step procedure to re-create the painting in which they chose. They freely used the colors and paint to add a unique touch to their work.
For Inah Cano, owner of The Activity and Play Lounge, “it was also a nice site to see parents sitting side by side with their children as they worked on their canvas and create memories as they shared this creative time together.”
One of the attendees asked: “do you need to be an experienced painter?” The beauty of this event is that “you don’t need to be a professional to create a masterpiece.” As what Inah’s daughter Chloe said “there are no rules in art for children!”
Each and every child that came that day was able to accomplish something special and something grand! They allowed their little artist to come out and voila, works of art were created!
The Activity and Play Lounge wishes to hold paint buffet parties once a month having different themes as well as involve the parents.
We aim to bring parents and children to love making art together by coming up with exciting, messy and creative sessions for everyone to enjoy! Sessions will have different mediums and projects at different skill levels to choose from. It includes a blank canvas and pallet for them to bring home. Apron, paint, and other painting supplies are provided in the buffet.
