THE Zamboanga City Government has opened the doors for entries for the 2016 CineChavacano Festival de Pelicula y Animacion in line with the upcoming Dia de Fundacion de Chavacano in June.
City Hall Information Officer Belen Sheila Covarrubias said Thursday that the CineChavacano Festival will select 10 live action and 10 animated films to be featured in the 5th Dia de Fundacion de Chavacano celebration on June 23.
Covarrubias said it is open to all ZamboangueƱo professional or student filmmakers and animators.
Grand winners for each category are slated to receive a cash prize of P10,000.
All film entries must highlight and feature Chavacano dialogue in keeping with the festival's aim of promoting and preserving the language.
Films must likewise be original creations, and have been completed no earlier than January 1, 2014.
