A TOTAL of P250,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized by police operatives during operations in four cities in Negros Occidental in the past two days.
In Himamaylan City, three persons were arrested Wednesday in a drug bust at Purok 5, Barangay Aguisan, including Alain Alsosa, 44, and Rolan Sesbino, 19, the 5th and 11th drug personalities in the city’s watchlist, respectively; and Lorben Sesbino, 44.
Police recovered from the suspects nine sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), the P200 marked money, drug paraphernalia as well as an improvised shotgun loaded with one live cartridge of 12-gauge shotgun from Sesbino.
Superintendent Antonietto Cañete, city police chief, said the recovered items weighed 32 grams with an estimated market value of P190,000.
In San Carlos City, a couple was arrested Thursday at Azucena Street, San Julio Subdivision, Barangay 2 after they yielded 10 sachets of suspected shabu.
Rone Bora and his wife Marianita sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer for P500.
Chief Inspector Mark Anthony Darroca, deputy city police chief and head of the Provincial Anti Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG), said the recovered substance have an estimated market value of P50,000.
Darroca said the couple, who are under the drug watch list, will be charged today.
Meanwhile, joint operatives of Bago City Police Station and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested Wednesday another couple at Torres Street, Barangay Poblacion, Bago City.
Police identified the suspects as Rassel Lacson, 36, and his wife Judy, 35.
They yielded 13 sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, the P300 marked money, and P350 cash.
Superintendent David Cachumbo Jr., city police chief, said the suspects are under the station’s drug watchlist, but are not included in the top 10 priority watchlist.
The recovered drugs have an estimated market value of P10,000.
In Escalante City, Angelito Doromal, 47, of Barangay Alimango; Wilma Calaunan, 33, of Barangay Tinampaan, Cadiz City, and Windel Fernandez, 25, of Fairview, Quezon City, were arrested Wednesday in a drug bust inside a pension house.
Police seized from their possession six sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.
