Bingo outlet loses P68T to 3 robbers

AN ELECTRONIC bingo outlet in Barangay Basak, Mandaue City lost about P68,000 in cash to three men who robbed the establishment when it was about to close at dawn last Thursday.

The suspects left on board two motorcycles after robbing the Bingo Boutique at Insular Square past 4:30 a.m.

After more than 12 hours, 31-year-old Roy Deiparine, one of the suspects, was arrested by members of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO)-Investigation and Detective Management Branch (IDMB) in the parking lot of Insular Square.

Witness

PO2 Junrey Garigade, one of the police investigators, said Deiparine was identified by Jerson Palermo, a security guard of Cassadore Security Agency.

Senior Supt. Jonathan Cabal, MCPO director, said the suspects declared a hold-up inside the bingo outlet.

According to the police report, one of the suspects was playing inside the bingo outlet when the two other suspects entered.

They then declared a hold-up.

Garigade said Palermo, who was helping close the bingo outlet, had already placed his firearm inside his locker.

One of the suspects pointed his gun at Palermo, who led the former to the cashier.

Deiparine, a resident of Sector 7 in Pagsabungan, was believed to be the look-out person.

The IDMB led by Supt. Melbert Glade Esguerra conducted a follow-up operation and caught Deiparine past 5 p.m.

Denial

Based on the footage of the closed-circuit television, one of the suspects at large was wearing a black jacket, blue shorts and slippers. The other suspect wore a gray jacket with a hood and a cap.

Deiparine, who is detained in the Police Station 3 holding cell pending the filing of charges against him, denied the allegations.

In March last year, six armed men took almost P2 million from the E-Bingo Club at the City Times Square on Mantawi Drive in Mandaue City.

Last Thursday night, 33-year-old Michael Suana Florida was arrested in Robocon, Linamon, Lanao del Norte.

Florida was believed to be part of the group that robbed the E-Bingo Club and My Gold Pawnshop on Colon St. in Cebu City.
