Arcadia, the next big thing at Matina Enclaves

MATINA Enclaves, the maiden mixed-use property development project of homegrown Escandor Development Corporation (Esdevco), was the busiest place in Davao City last May 16 as incoming President of the Philippines Rodrigo RoaDuterte held a temporary office at the Clubhouse at Matina Enclaves (Came) where he held his first press conference following his break after the May 9 general elections.

Aside from local and national media networks, different international media outlets also came to hear the runaway presidential winner talk about his plans for his new administration as he named a few of his Cabinet secretaries then offered the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) four Cabinet positions.

Prominent figures, politicians and foreign dignitaries alike, were among the well-wishers of Duterte who stayed at Came until the next morning.

Though Duterte has already been meeting guests at different hotels in Davao City, Matina Enclaves holds much promise as the next must-visit destination for leisure, recreation and fitness for the entire family with its Arcadia Sports Complex.

At Arcadia Sports Complex, having quality fun for each member of the family, lazing around at the pool or watching sports spectacles in an airconditioned sports bar; getting in shape at the fitness gym while the children sweat it out at the kids gymboree, or playing basketball with friends after a stressful day at work are all possible.

Perhaps, a relaxing massage will best suit the mood or the indoor wall climbing will be a good stress-buster.

Arcadia Sports Complex is expected to be the city's new premier hub.

Matina Enclaves project director Gerald Kent Garces said, "Instead of putting up retail spaces, we thought of an amenity for the entire family, for each family member can enjoy."

Conceptualizing the sports complex came easy as Esdevco president and CEO Glen Escandor, a basketball fanatic himself, has a reputable track record in leisure and hospitality through The Royal Mandaya Hotel, considered to be one of Davao City's landmarks, commercial and property development, retail and security services (Davao Security and Investigation Agency, Inc. or Dasia).

"Arcadia is more than just any regular gym we find here in Davao City," Garces said.

Located just across Matina Enclaves, which is in Quimpo Boulevard, Matina near SM City Davao, the three-storey 4,000-square meter Arcadia has proposed ample parking spaces, Olympic-sized 50-meter lapping pool and a kiddie pool, fitness gym, indoor wall climbing, reception area and lobby at the ground floor; wellness and spa rooms, sports bar, open fitness cafe and kiddie gymboree on the second floor; and an indoor standard wooden-floored basketball court on the third floor that can accommodate 350 spectators or host a convention with a seating capacity of 800.

AGM Consultants & Liza Crespo Ecotecture's perspective of the facility shows a unique, modern and stylish design that lives up to the high quality of products that the Esdevco Group of Companies is known for.

Arcadia Sports Complex will be open to the public with a monthly membership fee. (MLSA)
