Open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and located on the third floor of the ABC Hotel and Homes Building on F. Ramos St., Cebu City, Rustic Mix is a pleasant surprise for those who are looking for a place that offers both good coffee and good food, as well as an excellent atmosphere and superb interior.
Dubbed both a kitchen and a cafe, Rustic Mix started off as an idea by owner Camille Dublin way back in her college days.
“I always wanted to own my own business, and the idea had always been to open a cafe of some sort,” Camille said.
With a simple idea, Rustic Mix somehow manages to exude the sophistication of a rustic interior, creating an identity and a personality of its own, something that customers approvingly gravitate toward. With woodwork seamlessly incorporated into both the furniture and the cafe, the homey feeling is evident once one steps in.
Another thing that is evident upon stepping in is the hefty choices on the menu.
With meals available daily, the all-day breakfast menu is a good bet for getting a sumptuous meal. The chorizo is a popular dish. With a hint of spices to play with one’s palates, the chorizo is served with rice, a side of great tasting eggs, and Rustic Mix’s very own pickled green papaya. What makes it such a good dish is the mere fact that the chorizos themselves are home made as well.
The smoked boneless bangus is also a must try, with the delightful melt in your mouth smoked bangus making even the pickiest fish eater sigh in content.
Deviating from the breakfast meals, the burger steak is also something to rave about with the sauce for the burger steaks a reason enough to order this tasty meal.
If scarfing down food isn’t on the agenda, sipping Rustic Mix’s beverages comes highly recommended. With great tasting coffee, tea, sikwate, hot chocolate, milkshakes and slush drinks at the ready, the choices are endless. A definite must try is the calamansi slush for those looking for a summer quencher, and the oreo milkshake for those who are kids at heart.
