Duterte warns drug-protecting mayors

MAYORS who are into drugs are given one last message, “Warning ko sa mga mayor, huwag kayong magkamali. Maawa ka sa sarili mo. Do not think highly of yourselves that you can operate drugs,” presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte said in an interview with the media Monday night.

He also added that he will not forgive those who are into smuggling drugs, “Huwag lang yan, kasi yayariin ko kayo kaya sumibat na kayo,” Duterte said.

Duterte, during his lineup of do’s and dont’s, made it clear that he will wipe out drugs, criminality, and corruption in three to six months of his tenure as president.

The incoming president’s major platform was shaped by his will to have a safe and orderly Philippines, as he had also intended to replicate nationwide the locally implemented ordinances in Davao like liquor ban, anti-smoking ban, and curfew.

Duterte during his television segments Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa even then expressed his anger towards drugs and criminality. He is also known for his continued warning of, ”get out of my city” towards drug pushers, dealers, and everyone involved in drugs. (KVC)
