A TOTAL of P680,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized by joint police operatives in two drug busts in Negros Occidental early this week.
Chief Inspector Mark Anthony Darroca, head of Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (PAIDSOTG), said that in Hinigaran town, their team recovered Monday night 66 grams of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) with an estimated street value of P660,000.
They arrested 12 persons, including subjects Dennis Sagodaquil, 36, and Ramonit Prael, 47, who are under the station’s and the province’s drugs watchlist.
Also collared were Kevin Capuras, 23, Vicente Lim, 26, Ronaldo Flores, 34, and Richard Mahinay, 19, all from Cadiz City; Rodrigo Torib, 50, of Toboso town; Demry Dalida, 31, John Gerlad Tison, 34, Karen Navarro, 32, Joemarie Donesa, and Michael Reysag, all from Hinigaran town.
The operation was conducted by PAIDSOTG in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-18, and Hinigaran Municipal Police Station.
Charges are being readied against the suspects detained at Hinigaran Municipal Police Station.
In Bago City, police arrested Hilbert Rapel, 44, of Barangay 2, La Carlota City, after he yielded four big sachets of suspected shabu on Tuesday.
Superintendent David Cachumbo Jr., chief of Bago City Police Station, said Rapel, who is included in their watchlist, supplies illegal drugs to Barangay Poblacion, and its adjacent villages.
Cachumbo said the recovered drugs have a street value of P20,000.
In Isabela, Joerima de la Raga, 21, of Zone 3, Barangay Tinongan, was arrested by joint operatives of PDEA and Isabela Municipal Police Station in a drug bust Monday night.
Police seized from his possession five small sachets of shabu.
