P1.5M illegal drugs seized from Cuadra son

ABOUT P1.5 million worth of illegal drugs were seized from the son of drug convict Jose Kim “Boy” Cuadra during a raid at his house in Barangay 1, Bacolod City around 8:30 p.m. Friday night.

The subject of the operation was Gerald Cuadra.

Superintendent Maharlika Oscar Villasis, chief of Regional Special Operations Task Group-18, said they were acting on the search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 49 Judge Manuel Cardinal Friday afternoon.

Recovered from the suspect’s house were 15 to 20 sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride), and drug paraphernalia. Police also recovered a high-powered 5.56mm firearm, a .45 caliber, and assorted ammunition.

Villasis said they have yet to verify if the firearms are licensed. He added that the suspect was placed under surveillance for four months.

“We have reasons to believe that illegal drugs were kept in his residence for repackaging,” Villasis said.

Cuadra, who will face drug charges, is detained at Bacolod City Police Office headquarters.
