Durian-inspired condo Groundbreaking held for Inspiria

DAVAO-BASED developer Gardenstate Enterprises Inc. broke ground last Friday, May 27, for its first high-rise project, the Inspiria, located at J.P. Laurel Ave., Bajada, Davao City.

The first “Durian-inspired residential condominium,” which is located at the heart of the Davao City, is a 21-storey property.

Bernardo Teo Jr., Inspiria project manager, said that with the groundbreaking and laying of the time capsule ceremony, investors of Inspiria is a step closer to an investment, location and convenience-wise residence in the center of the city.

“This project offers an essence of home to those people who are always on-the-go with its strategic and very convenient location beside Abreeza Ayala Mall Davao Corporate Center, one of the most accessible locations in the city,” he said.

Once constructed, the property is eyed to be the new icon of the city depicting the Davao’s famous Durian, the king of the fruits.

The property will be on 2,130 square meters lot. It has a total of 320 residential units, commercial units located from 6th to 8th floor, 36 office units and 150 parking slots for cars and 49 for motorcycles.

Of the 320 units, 212 are Studio A units, 40 for Studio B, 39 for one-bedroom Durian Suite units while the 29 are for Penthouse premium units that are two-storey units located on the 20th floor of the condominium.

“Of the 320, at present we only have 186 units available,” Teo said.

The agents started selling in July of last year, a month after the owners secured a HLURB permit last June 2015.

Inspiria will also feature retail shops including banks, convenience stores, drugstores and coffee shops for the first floor.

It will also feature its infinity-designed adult and kiddie pool, indoor and outdoor fitness gym, naturally ventilated hallways for better air flow advanced waste water treatment technology and centralized cistern tank in accordance to the city’s new ordinance which will serve as a catch basin for rainwater.

It will also provide a total of six elevator lifts, two for commercial use and four for residential use. Building designer Architect Michael Torres, president and CEO of Archiglobal, said that they have designed the building like the Durian fruit’s rind wherein the condo’s façade will be featuring “protrusions and jagged edges.”

“They aim for it to be become iconic to Davao City, we want to construct a building in Davao that would be a landmark, an icon and Inspiria will be it,” Torres said.
