CITY OF SAN FERNANDO--Some 38 senior citizens aged 95 years old and up received P100, 000 each from the Provincial Government of Pampanga recently.
The distribution was led by Gov. Lilia "Nanay" Pineda in a short program held at Benigno Aquino Hall, Capitol compound yesterday.
Gov. Pineda personally handed the cash incentives amounting to P3.8 million. The beneficiaries came from the second, third and fourth districts of the province.

Cabigting, 95; Maxima G. Guevarra, 95; Luciano P. Mañago, 97; Florentina C. Gatus, 95; Adelina D. Nuñga, 95; Eufrecina D. Garbes, 96; Jose M. Santos, 97; Adela R. Briones, 97; Maria Beatriz H. Duncil, 95; Bonofacio Capulong, 98; Efipania Q. Catu, 95; Jose M. Manansala, 96; Placida D. Sandiego, 98; Rosario M. Padilla, 99; Remedios Mamangun, 96; Faustino C. Silvestre, 97; Diosdado C. Provincial Social Welfare and Development office (PSWDO) head Elizabeth Baybayan said that distribution is based on the ordinance that provides financial assistance to senior citizens.
The ordinance previously covered those who reached 100-year-old, which has been amended by the Provincial Board (PB) to include 95-year-old natural born Kapampangans as eligible beneficiaries.
Based on the records of the PSWDO, the provincial government has distributed a total of P8.2 million to seniors since the implementation of the said ordinance last year.
