HAYASHI-HA Shitoryukai Cebu dominated the Visayas Karatedo Union National Championship being crowned the overall champions last May 26 and 27 at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
Hayashi-ha Shitoryukai Cebu grabbed a total of 28 gold medals, 12 silvers and six bronzes to take home the top plum in the tournament.
Rafael Vidal bagged three gold medals for Hayashi-ha Shitoryukai Cebu in kata, kumite and team kata events and earned the Best Kata Player award.
Nine-year-old Christine Sacedoon also snagged three gold medals in the kata, kumite and double kumite events and also took home the Best Kumite Player trophy.
Leonor Sacedoon also took home three gold medals in kata, kumite and team kata and was named the Best Kata Player of the Year; and five-year-old Alyanna Tejero won two golds in kata and kumite and was named the Promising Athlete of the Year.
A total of 143 karatekas joined the event, some even coming all the way from Angeles City, Bicol, Iloilo, Davao, Negros and Dumaguete.
