Apalit town prepares for annual fluvial parade

APALIT--The local government unit (LGU) is now preparing for the annual fluvial parade slated on June 28 to 30.

Mayor-elect Peter Nucom said that the LGU, the police, and rescuers are now getting ready for the programs to be conducted in the 172-year old yearly religious tradition in honor of this town's patron Saint Peter.

Nucom urges devotees to participate in the peace and order campaign in the town especially during the procession.

He also said that there is a municipal ordinance that prohibits the residents to drink alcohol in the streets.

The newly mayor-elect also stressed that aside from the Apalit rescue team, rescuers from provincial disaster office would also help during the fluvial parade to avoid untoward incidents.

Aside from the fluvial parade, Nucom also said that the committee will have other programs for the ApaliteƱos.

Nung ako yung committee last year nagkaroon ng job fair, program sa livelihood at medical and dental mission," Nucom said.
