'IT-BPM Summit to usher an age of evolution'

THE Philippine information technology and business process management (IT-BPM) industry is facing one of its most exciting times yet.

This year, the industry is expected to meet all of its targets, 1.3 million in direct employment and US$25 billion in revenue, as stated in the 2012-2016 Philippine IT-BPM Roadmap.

As it faces a new era, this year’s International IT-BPM Summit (IIS) will host the unveiling of a new iteration of the IT-BPM Roadmap.

The Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) partnered with Frost & Sullivan in developing the Philippine IT-BPM Roadmap 2022. The new roadmap will chart the course of the industry in the next six years as it is poised to face an ever-changing future.

With the theme "Evolve PH: Future-Ready," this year’s IIS will take on issues that will help industry players face the changing landscape of the future.

The summit promises to disrupt the core concept of IIS itself. This year will be filled with impactful and relevant discussions about ground-breaking concepts and disruptive forces shaping the IT-BPM industry today.

Focused on the future, the summit touches subjects on how the industry can disrupt the norms, evolve with the use of technology, and gear up for what lies ahead.

Inspired by the revelation of the Roadmap 2022, each of the industry’s six verticals -- Animation Council of the Philippines Inc. (ACPI), Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP), Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP), Global In-house Centers Council (GICC), Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP), and Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) -- will simultaneously have their own sessions where goals, plans, and targets, as well as trends and issues will be unravelled through their own compact roadmaps. This gives delegates the opportunity to share their ideas and brainstorm on what they can leverage on to attain thriving IT-BPM sectors.

Catherine Salceda-Ileto, IBPAP trustee and Sutherland Global Services senior director and Asia Pacific leader for Marketing & Public Relations, said IIS will be more exciting, punchy, and straight to the point.

“We’re shaking things up this year, starting with the event proper. Instead of a two-day conference, we opted to have it all in one day to increase networking and business-matching sessions among the delegates. Driven by content from the Roadmap, the summit will feature high-level discussions about the future of the Philippine IT-BPM industry. We can’t wait to start the conversation!” she said.

The event will also play host to an important conversation about continuing to elevate the industry’s growth under the new administration.

The roadmap will be turned over to the new president, who is expected to provide a glimpse of the new administration’s plans for the industry.

“The government has always supported our industry right from the start. Now, as we usher in a new administration, we at IBPAP, are very eager to hear from our new leader,” said Salceda-Ileto.

Another milestone for this year’s summit is the first ever IBPAP Leadership Awards.

For the first time, industry leaders and organizations that have made a significant impact on the Philippine IT-BPM landscape will be recognized for their contributions to the industry, especially in the completion of the Philippine IT-BPM Roadmap 2016.

The awards night is IBPAP’s way of showing their appreciation for all the hard work that players put through to help the industry achieve its goals.

“The summit has always been about the future,” said Danilo Reyes, IBPAP chairman. “With the launch of the new roadmap, we can confidently surge ahead with concrete plans and everyone’s solid commitment to growth. Together, we are future ready for the world.”

The 2016 IIS is set to be held on October 28 at the Grand Ballroom, Marriott Hotel in Pasay City. For more information, log on to www.internationalitbpmsummit.com. (PR)
