ILOILO CITY -- If found dishonest in its dealings with the City Government because of its alleged failure to deliver water to several barangays in the city, Holland Water Corporation and its refilling station maybe blacklisted in the city.
This was announced by lawyer Mark Piad, spokesperson of Mayor Jed Mabilog, during a press conference, Wednesday, June 8, to answer questions on the liability of the water company.
The City Government entered in a contract with Holland Water for the delivery of 13,000 cubic meters of potable to 21 barangays who were hit by severe water shortage at the height of El Niño last April.
Piad said they are still waiting for the result of the investigation conducted by the City Council.
And while the probe is ongoing, Piad said payment to Holland Water will be put on hold.
On Monday, May 6, two barangay captains claimed their barangay did not receive water from the water company.
It was also found out that Holland Water has no delivery trucks which runs contrary to the contract it signed with the city.
The claimed deliveries allegedly were not supported with delivery receipts, as well.
Holland Water earlier said it was the City Government who decided to "cease and desist from making further deliveries". (LCP/Sunnex)
