TWENTY-seven-year-old Ana would have wanted a complete family for her eight-month-old baby boy.
But after the recent decision they made with her live-in partner, Pablo Loberanes, she might not be able to realize her long-time dream.
Loberanes was identified as the most wanted drug personality in Mandaue City who surrendered to the police last Wednesday night.
Ana, who requested that her full name will not be disclosed, said she convinced her live-in partner to end his involvement in illegal drug trade and surrender to the police, so they will have peace of mind.
They have been together for almost three years already.
She considered the move of her live-in partner as a sacrifice for them to have a better future.
Ana said that for several months already, Loberanes has already stopped selling illegal drugs.
Ana said if submitting himself to the police would make Loberanes safe and worry them less, she should prefer him to be in jail than go hiding for his life.
Each time he comes home he cries, embrace me and say he doesn’t want us to be involved because of the new policy..if he goes to prison, at least he’d be safe),”she added.
Ana is referring to the pronouncement of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs and run after those who are into that illegal business.
Because of too much fear, the two who were living in Barangay Paknaan have to transfer to another area for their safety.
I told him that he should appear and prove that you’re no longer involved because if you keep hiding, there wouldn’t be an end to it),” she said.
Loberanes also surrendered because he wants his name cleared.
Ana said it is not true that her partner can dispose large amount of shabu, which made him top the list of most wanted person for illegal drugs.
Although Loberanes has already stopped his illegal business, he has to sell again from time to time because of poverty.
She said they need to pay for her hospitalization since she gave birth to their premature child.
It’s not true that he disposed large amounts, he was just forced to sell becase we had bills for the hospital and the house and our baby was also admitted in the hospital),” she said.
