ALL is set for the 2016 Cine Chavacano festival that will kick off Monday, June 20, and will culminate on June 23.
City Tourism Officer Sarita Sebastian-Hernandez said the four-day festival would feature Chavacano film shows for free to the public, especially for the students.
The film showing will be held at the City Government's Centro Latino Convention Center of the Paseo del Mar.
Hernandez said the festival aims to promote and preserve the dialect, and has been in line with the commemoration of the 4th Dia de Fundacion de Chavacano.
City Ordinance 374 declares every June 23 of each year as the Dia de Fundacion de Chavacano.
Hernandez encouraged the residents of Zamboanga City and all radio stations to speak and play Chavacano songs during the duration of the festival. (Bong Garci)
