The talks are short yet packed with content that will inspire you and get you thinking.
Here are some of my picks from the past weeks:
The magic ingredient that brings Pixar movies to life | Danielle Feinberg

Most of us, if not all, agree that Pixar films are magical, from the storyline itself to the characters to the animation. Danielle Feinberg, Pixar’s director of photography, walks us through the magic that happens behind the scenes of Pixar films. One of the amazing information I got from her talk is how the production team of each film weave together science, math, and computer coding to come up with the visually stunning Pixar movies that we love.
The laws that sex workers really want | Toni Mac

Discussion about sex workers and their lifestyle is a sensitive and controversial topic. However, I find this talk by activist Toni Mac as one of the best discussions on the matters regarding and surrounding sex workers.
Here she gives her insights on the cons of current laws around the globe that covers sex workers and prostitutions. She pointed out that it is important for policy makers to consult with sex workers in coming up with policies concerning them.
Inside the mind of a master procrastinator | Tim Urban

Quotable quote: “I had a little bit of an epiphany that I don’t think non-procrastinators exist. That’s right, I think all of you are procrastinators.”
Tim Urban delivers this funny and insightful talk as to what happens when people procrastinate. Tim describes the mind or system of procrastinators has three characters, the Rational Decision-Maker, Instant Gratification Monkey, and the Panic Monster.
Tim said the Rational Decision-Maker will make the decision to get things done; then the monkey comes in to distract him. As the deadline nears or some scary consequence is about to happen, the Panic Monster comes in and procrastination sets in. He also describes two kinds of procrastination, which the description would be too long to describe in this article. To know more about it, you might want to check the video.
