Prices of fruits, fishes down in Bankerohan

PRICES of fruits and seafood products went down this week while that of vegetables have remained stable as compared to last week's.

Based on price monitoring conducted Thursday, June 23, at the Bankerohan Public Market, the price per kilo of rambutan reduced from P90 to P50, pomelo from P120 to P100, marang from P60 to P40, durian from P120 to P150 to P100, and grapes from P250 to P200.

In contrast, the price per kilo of Watermelon had gone up from P20 to P25, along with the price of Guyabano from P35 to P40 per kilo and avocado from P30 to P40.

Vegetable prices have remain the same from last week with squash being sold for P10 per slice, kangkong for P5 per bundle, malunggay for P5 per bundle, cucumber for P10 each, sayote for P10 per bundle, okra P20 for three pieces, eggplant for P10 each and pechay for P90 per stalk.

The price of whole chicken had decreased from P120 to P115 while the price of pork remained steady at P160 per kilo.

The prices of commonly bought seafood products also decreased this week.

Tilapia went down from P140 per kilo to P90, malasugue from P380 to P200, squid from P260 to P200. mussel (tahong) remained being sold for P50 per kilo and milkfish (bangus) for P130. ( Lyka Amethyst Casamayor and Viel Elysse Cansino, MSU and UP-Min Interns)
