FOUR gunmen held-up and robbed of cash and other valuables the passengers of a commercial bus along the Zamboanga-Pagadian Highway, the police reported.
The Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula (Western Mindanao) said the incident took place around 1 a.m., Saturday, along the highway in the village of Kitabog, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay.
The police reported that the bus of the Rural Transmit Mindanao Inc. (RTMI) driven by Damasino Fermendoza was traveling to Dipolog City coming from Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, when held-up and robbed by found unidentified gunmen.
The police said that investigation showed one of the suspects pretended to be a passenger boarded the bus at the terminal of Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.
Upon reaching the village of Kitabog, Titay, he ordered Fermendoza to stop the bus as he will disembark in the area.
Three other gunmen, however, suddenly surfaced and boarded the bus when Fermendoza opened the door of the vehicle. They then declared the heist.
The police said the gunmen took away an estimated cash of P45,000 and other personal belongings of the passengers.
Investigation continued Sunday to unmask the suspects, the police said.
