More drug users, pushers surrender in Mindanao


MORE drug pushers and users surrendered to authorities in Buhangin District and other areas in Mindanao.

Three minors and 10 adults yielded to Buhangin Police Station at around 2 p.m. last June 28. Councilman Anthony Tecson of Tigatto endorsed the surenderees to the police.

Among those who surrendered were 16-year-old alias Jeffrey, alias Irish, Michael Arguelles Mosquete, Raymond Babtisma, alias Daryl, Erasmo Pulangco Bonifacio, Marlon Mahilom, Jason Panliman Collama, Joseph Bontia Poyos, Ryan Ricablanca, Samuel Tucona, Jamer Alamansa Abdul, and Christian Pelenio.

These illegal drug users and pushers admitted thgey feared for theur lives now that former Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte who has always been vocal with his stance against criminality and drugs assumes his post as the 16th president of the Philippines.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Davao legal aide Ben Joseph Tesiorna earlier said that the surrenderees will have the option to confine themselves at the Drug Rehabilitation Center in Bago Oshiro, Mintal in Davao City.

"If they have criminal records, then they will be immediately arrested," he added.

In Digos City, some 130 men involved in illegal drug activities also surrendered to village officials of Tres Mayo late afternoon on Monday, 40 of whom opted to undergo drug rehabilitation in Zamboanga City. (CCC)
