THERE is always something new that will sweep anyone off their feet at Away Spa, W Bangkok’s chic “cocoon”, where a metamorphosis transpires for each guest after each unique spa experience.
If you’re a spa regular there is a tendency not to depart from the usual treatment, but at Away Spa there is something new on the menu to luxuriate in.
The most recent spa promotion, The “Summer Refresh”, was geared towards cooling the mind, body and soul from the hot and humid Bangkok climate.
The treatments, designed to provide thorough beautification and nourishment, promises its guest to “radiate like never before” as it aim to nourish and brighten the skin and body to dispel one’s fear of facing the heat and bright sun.
The “Cool For The Summer” is a 90-minute therapy that will “reboot” exhausted skin and sunburn with a 60-minute full body cooling oil massage that will heal sore muscles and rough skin.
A 30-minute Mini Aloe Vera Cucumber Facial follows to soothe burnt skin cells and welcome new ones.
Its Mango season and the fruit is not just for eats as Away Spa infuses a Big Mango (a sobriquet for Bangkok) touch to the menu with the “Mango Delight.”
The 75-minute therapy includes exfoliation with our Mango Body Scrub followed by an application of the mango body lotion that’ll leave the skin soft, fabulously smooth and gorgeously nourished.
How about a dash of another fruit? The “Lemon Fresh” is a 60-minute rejuvenation massaging the neck, back and shoulder with a lemon oil mood enhancer that will ease the mind while detoxifying and brightening the skin.
There was even a package created for the much-celebrated festival in April called the “Songkran Escape,” a 90-minute therapy the lets one unwind with a 30-min Thai White Clay cleansing facial followed by a 60-minute Champaca Oil Massage to relieve one from the stress and exhaustion.
Just like the rest of my visit to Bangkok, the last night is always reserved for a spa visit to culminate another fun exploration of the city.
At Away Spa they made me try the most luxurious on the Summer Refresh list- the “Diamond are Forever” therapy. Once again, I went through the four zones of my metamorphosis.
In Zone 2, where the therapy takes place, the glowing beds change color to suit the client’s mood: green reflects a calm and peaceful demeanor, red enhances body energy, purple radiates happiness while pink signals romance and sensuality.
Having tried green and pink, I had my 120-minute escape in the red glow.
The opulent therapy is fashioned to purify the skin with an all-natural 100 percent diamond powder treatment that will exfoliate & energize the skin to a new radiance.
The full-body age-defying treatment started with a 30-minute Diamond Body Scrub followed by a 30-minute Diamond Body Wrap and finally, a 60-minute Diamond Oil Massage.
With my metamorphosis complete I emerged refreshed with exhaustion from days of exploration washed away, and my skin supple and smooth to the touch.
Is it right to say that after the “Diamonds are Forever” therapy I shone bright like a diamond?
