THE ANTI-drug campaign of President Rodrigo Duterte has resulted to surrender of 120 individuals in Baguio City.
The 120 individuals confessed using drugs and surrendered to the different stations of the Baguio City Police Office in coordination with the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council.
BCPO Information Officer Labora Mae Nabunat said the suspected drug users surrendered in the different stations in the city.
However, Nabunat failed to divulge what barangays the self-confessed drug-users came from.
Voluntary surrender of illicit drug-users started June 26 to 30, according to BCPO Director PSSupt. George Daskeo.
"We set June 30 as the deadline for drug-users to come out and confess, beyond that, we will pursue them and file necessary charges," Daskeo said.
Those who surrendered will be given counseling by BADAC in partnership with several government agencies as initial intervention.
Daskeo said there is a need to establish a rehabilitation center for drug-users to ensure that the victims will become productive members of the society.
The police chief added rehab is the only way to avoid drug dependents from suicides or isolation.
