Roti & Tea

It all started when she visited Thailand.

Maria Mayer Jerreje, owner of Roti and Tea, said that she was inspired by the fruit culture of Thailand, which prompted her to open her business.

Roti, which is originally from Thailand, is now the main course of the business.

Roti is made up of flour, eggs and, of course, it wouldn't be complete without its delicious toppings, the banana. It is served fresh from the pan so one can enjoy it hot for only P50.

Aside from the delicious Roti, they also have three different juices formulated based on the concept of the owner. It is naturally made from fruits and flowers picked from the owner's farm in Davao City. These are the Almond Red Tea, Cucumber Lemon made from cucumber juice and calamansi and lastly, the juice extracted from what Jerreje called "bukid" flower dipped with lemon slices, the Citrus Ternatea.

"These (juices) are all available for only P30 per glass. It is affordable yet good for the health, recommended for everyone," the saleslady of the store said.

Lemonade Citrus Box

Since its launching last week, Lemonade Citrus Box has been embraced by the buying public especially those who are health conscious.

Lemon, with a number of health benefits, is now simply inside one glass. It offers its customers a freshly squeezed lemon with a touch of syrup.

For only P49, one can already have the refreshing goodness of lemon. Aside from lemon juice, you can also buy lemon for P35 and P100 for three pieces.

More than that, the franchise owner is also selling organic products from Lumads in Marilog District like powdered ginger in a bid to help the indigenous people market their products.

Fruits or any organic plants that could fight against diseases may have a not-so-good-to-taste, but Tubotreat is an exception as it now gives you a delicious and easy way of getting the benefits of tubo or sugarcane.

Tubo has been studied as one of the best ways to fight the risks of cancer. Unlike the traditional way of eating tubo, Tubotreat made it more exciting. Instead of grinding it in inside one's mouth, one can now have the juice of "tubo" in an instant.

From fresh tubo stick, it is put inside an extracting machine. It is also available with various flavors, including tubo juice with Ginger extracts, tubo juice with tanglad or lemon grass, and tubo juice mixed with passion fruit. It also uses organic ingredients in their products. (Sittie Alyssah C. Diron and Laurence Seri Joy Bayona, MSU Interns)
