POLICE arrested 19 suspected junkies and drug personalities in separate operations in Danao City and Minglanilla town.
Seized from the suspects were 32 small packs of white crystals believed to be shabu worth P15,104 and drug paraphernalia.
At 8:20 a.m. yesterday, the team led by PO3 Phil Restauro chanced upon a group of persons who were allegedly sniffing shabu in an open hut on Olivar St. in Barangay Poblacion.
They are Marvin Avila Carpentiro, 22; Luisito Jayme Oliverio, 36; Rolito Precillas Arnejo, 40; Merwin Pasahe Roca, 23; Mark Jefferson Almerez Cane, 21; Jonathan Ehidio Almerez, 31; Pablito Gonzales Rom, 32; and Sandy Molina Perales, 35.
Restauro’s team later conducted a buy-bust against 48-year-old Jocelyn Giangan Batac on F. Ralota St. in Poblacion at 10:30 a.m.
She was arrested and 11 sachets of shabu were confiscated from her.
The operatives checked the interior portion of the street and found five persons allegedly sniffing shabu in an open room.
The alleged junkies are Alvin Arinas Barriga, 19; Mark Lorenzo Tuizon Cinco, 24; Jayson Gorre Almerez, 18; Marish Barriga Caputol, 22; and Cristine Montibon Bragat, 21.
Last Sunday, at 10:50 a.m., the operatives led by Restauro also arrested eight persons having a pot session in the interior part of Barangay Looc.
They are Ronel Dagatan Lawas, 24; Junrey Batucan Barbero, 23; Jerico Soriano Capidante, 29; Joseph Pacilona, 18; Nerie Martel Cal, 35; Crecencio Lavador Capuno, 24; Alvin Canggas, 26; and Roy Dayday Lavador, 35.
Complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against the suspects.
In Barangay Tunghaan, Minglanilla, a man was arrested after he was allegedly caught sniffing shabu at 8:15 p.m. last Sunday.
SPO2 Roland Camello, PO2 Evie Espina and PO2 Juvi Egdamin arrested the suspect identified as Rolly Laragas Eliezar, 35.
He was reportedly with three unidentified men who were able to escape when the police arrived.
The police found drug paraphernalia in Eliezar’s possession.
Eliezar admitted that he has been sniffing shabu for three years, consuming P200 worth of shabu in a day.
