WHILE fans continue to wait for the official release date of the 2016 version of the well-loved Kapuso fantaserye “Encantadia,” its director has already revealed that they are set to run until December this year.
“We are committed until December,” Direk Mark Reyes shared with the Davao entertainment press during an interview at New Asia Restaurant in Davao City last June 26.
Amid this schedule, the director hinted, however, that the fantasy-themed TV series may be aired longer depending on the fans’ reception.
“We don’t know the number of episodes yet,” he said as he pointed out once again about their run until the end of this year.
When it comes to the official release date of new “Encantadia,” he admitted that there has been no airing schedule yet “but it’s safe to say that it would be in late July or early August.”
He described the remake of the series as a “requel” since it is both a re-telling of what happened in the past and a sequel at the same time.
“We’re starting off with the-telling then we will eventually move to a different realm,” Reyes narrated.
Apart from having new faces to portray the role of the famous sang’gres, the director also noted that certain improvements have been infused into the new “Encantadia,” which he said is definitely a multi-million project.
The cast playing as sang’gres, the keepers of four gems, relayed how discipline has been inculcated among them since they started shooting for it.
Gabbi Garcia is playing the role of Alena (used to be Karylle), Glaiza de Castro is Pirena (Sunshine Dizon before), Kylie Padilla is Amihan (Iza Calzado), and Sanya Lopez is Danaya (Diana Zubiri).
According to them, with the kind of costumes that they wear, plus the scenes they need to execute, it is indeed important to keep themselves fit and sexy.
De Castro bared that despite the fact that adopting a healthy lifestyle is not easy, she still embraced it.
“Even before it was announced that we got it, I really had the resolution na talaga to get fitter,” she said.
As for Padilla, diet played a vital role in her being fit these days, aside from going to the gym regularly, especially that “you are 10 pounds bigger talaga on TV.”
With the stringent process that they had to go through just to get their roles, the “Encantadia” 2016 ladies really worked hard, not just acting-wise but also with how they look. Thus, they got the respect of their director.
“Hands-up ako sa mga batang ito, sa disiplina nila,” he said. “They really work hard to maintain their slim physique.”
During their Davao visit, they were also accompanied by Ruru Madrid and Rocco Nacino who play as Ybarro/Prinsipe Ybrahim and Aquil, respectively.
