P400,000 worth marijuana destroyed in Balamban

ABOUT 3,200 stalks of marijuana worth P400,000 were uprooted and burned in a village in Balamban town in Cebu on Sunday, July 10.

Balamban Police Chief Inspector Florendo Fajardo said uprooted by the town policemen and members of the Special Weapons and Tactics Team of the Cebu Provincial Police Office were fully-grown marijuana plants in the mountainous terrain of Barangay Bayong.

He said the plants were burned in the area, adding that they used a drone to monitor the land area where the marijuana was planted.

In Toledo City, village watchmen arrested two men for possessing the illegal drug.

Ricardo Geonzon Rosales and Danny Celin Paredes were caught by the tanods in Barangay Tungkay, Toledo City.
