ONE of the top ten drug personalities was arrested for violating Sec. 12, Art. 2 of RA 9165 in Pakigne, Minglanilla, Cebu last Wednesday night.
The arrested suspect was identified as Junrey Secretaria Arañas, 24, a.k.a. “Tawi,” a resident of Barangay Pakigne, Minglanilla, Cebu. He was issued a warrant of arrest last April 21, 2015 by Judge Morey Nueva of RTC Branch 13, Cebu City, with a recommended bail of P40,000.
The operation was led by Minglanilla Police Chief Franco Rudolf Oriol, SPO2 Roland Camello, PO3 George Campomanes, PO2 Evie Espina and PO2 Juvi Egdamin.
The police found Arañas driving his motorcycle. The team frisked him, but did not find any drug paraphernalia in his possession.
“So far, sa among tactical interrogation niya, wala siya moapil or mo-ivolved ug sindikato. Local man siya, which means wala siya’y transactions sa lain nga barangay,” said SPO2 Roland Camello.
SPO2 Camello added that Arañas did not ask for any intervention, but claims he has stopped using drugs.
