NBI studies ‘Kilala’ system in drug rings

DRUG personalities who surrendered to authorities were giving vital information for the apprehension of big time illegal drug pushers, an official from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said.

On Wednesday’s AFP-PNP press conference at the Ritz Hotel, NBI-Davao Director Arnold Rosales bared that the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) project double barrel has been an effective strata to suppress illegal drugs.

“Alam na naming ngayon na meron nang tinatawag nila na ‘Kilala System’ kung saan nag bebenta sila ng illegal drugs sa mga kakilala nila, hindi nila e-didispose ang basura nila kung hindi masyadong kilala ang mga taong bumibili sa kanila,” he said.

“Kilala System” is only one of the many ingenious ways men involved with illegal drug activities are doing to avoid being caught.

Through the information revealed by the surrenderees, the authorities shed light on how to capture more suspects.

“We are now in the midst of verifying information to arrest the big ones in this illegal trade,” he added.

NBI said they already have a list of the pushers from this Region- most of them come from Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, and Davao Oriental.

Rosales urged the drug pushers, users and coddlers to surrender under the authority to avoid “bigger trouble”. (Pol Jayson Dagoc/MSU Intern/With CCC)
