First District Reprentative Karlo Alexei Nograles was among the first to come out with a statement on the survey result saying, “The survey results showing President Duterte’s excellent trust ratings reinforces the overwhelming mandate he received last elections, and clearly shows the vast majority accepting him as the one true President of the Republic. As representatives of the people Congress has also demonstrated this with the super majority of the members throwing their all-out support to President Rody.”

“These numbers are very important because it shows the Filipino’s willingness to let President Duterte steer our nation to a new and better course that will change our future for the better. Magtiwala tayo sa ating bagong Pangulo at huwag tayo maging hadlang sa tunay na Pagbabago. Knowing the President, he will forge unity among all sectors using the strength of this mandate. Those who seek to derail his efforts must step aside,” he added.

“I expect that high rating, I am not surprised, because the administration made fast action and changes in the government,” Davao City Councilor and Acting vice Mayor Bernard Al-ag said.

The business community in Davao City said that Duterte’s strong political will and clear directive on his administration were some of the factors contributing to his high-earned trust rating.

“He has a very strong political will in implementing control on drugs and criminality without fear other people's comment,” Bonifacio Tan, Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII) president told Sun.Star Davao in an interview.

He also added that Duterte’s initiative to convene the country’s businessmen in a consultative workshop dubbed as “Sulong Pilipinas: Hakbang Tungo sa Kaunlaran” last June was a clear manifestation of this administration’s concern to the business sector’s issues and concerns.

“Opening dialogue with the business sector to present ideas and suggestion in cooperation with government (was a good move),” he said.

Also, Department of Tourism (DOT)-Davao regional director, Roberto Alabado, III said that in his dialogues with the tourism stakeholders especially those who are based in the National Capital Region (NCR), they unanimously said that the president’s “metamorphosis” was excellent.
