Market watch: Veggie, fruit prices stable

PRICES of commonly-bought vegetables and fruits have remained stable while some seafood products increased as compared to last week’s prices based on the monitoring conducted yesterday at Bankerohan Public Market in Davao City.

The price of pechay remained at P80 per kilo, squash at P30, cucumber at P30, okra for P5 per bundle, kangkong for P5 per bundle and malunggay for P5 per bundle. Sayote decreased from P12 to P7 per pieces.

The prices of fruits like rambutan remained at P50 per kilogram (kg), marang at P40 per kg, pomelo at P120 per kg also and guyabano, P30 per kg.

Meanwhile, watermelon increased from P25 to P30 per kilo and avocado from P50 to P60 per kg. Prices of mango were down from P70 to P60 per kg and durian from P80 to P60 per kg.

Market price of milkfish (bangus) increased from P100 to P110 per kilo and tilapia from P70 to P120 per kilo. Prices of squid remained at P100 per kilo and mussels at P50 per kilo.

The chicken meat also remained at P130 per kilo, while pork meat increased from P130 to P160 per kg. (MIP and MRS, UIC and MSU Interns/ASP)
