House caretaker shot dead by fellow worker in Carcar

A HOUSE caretaker was shot to death by his fellow employee in Sitio Ibabao, Barangay Perrelos, Carcar City last Saturday morning.

Police identified the fatality as Joseph Angelo Carreon Lendio, 33, who succumbed to gunshot wounds in his back.

The suspect, Brian Moro Teslo, fled after the incident. Like the victim, he works as caretaker of the house owned by Helene Sabulina Insina.

Investigation conducted by the police team led by SPO2 Irving Paterno Avila showed Lendio and Insina having a dispute. It was not yet clear what the two were arguing about.

At 9 a.m., bursts of gunshot were heard inside the house. A woman went inside and found the victim lying in his own blood.

Naga City

The woman called Insina, who was in Naga City, and informed the latter about the incident. Insina informed Carcar City Police Station about it.

Avila’s team recovered two empty shells of .45 pistol in the crime scene. The firearm and its magazine loaded with two bullets are now in the police’s custody.

At 2:30 p.m., on the same day, a cable line technician fell to his death in Barangay Cagay, Barili, southern Cebu.

The casualty was identified as Joselito A. Casipong, 43.

Investigation showed that the victim was on a 80-foot tower fixing the Internet connection to an Internet cafe owned by Arnulfo Pasuit when he fell.

Responding police officers, led by SPO2 Reynaldo Layese, rushed Casipong to Barili District Hospital, but the victim was declared dead on arrival.
