2 drug pushers nabbed in Zamboanga Sibugay drug bust

POLICE nabbed two known drug personalities, one of whom was wounded in a shootout during a drug bust around 8:30 p.m., on Sunday, July 17, in the village of Tuno, Diplahan, province of Zamboanga Sibugay.

Senior Superintendent Romulo Cleve Taboso, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, identified the arrested suspects in the drug bust as Richie Aseñero, 28, and Ricky Saga, 34, both residents of the village of Gaulan, Diplahan town.

Taboso said Aseñero and Saga have already surrendered to the police in Diplahan in relation to the nationwide campaign against illegal drug activities dubbed as “Oplan Tokhang” but resumed to prohibited operations few days after.

Aseñero was listed as top four in the drugs watch list of the police in Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay. Drug personalities were referred to either pushers or users of prohibited drugs.

He added Aseñero pulled a handgun prompting the one of the operating personnel to shoot him once hitting his feet.

Aseñero was taken to the Wilfredo Palma Memorial Hospital for medical treatment while Saga detained at the police headquarters.

Police recovered from Aseñero was a home-made .38 caliber revolver with four live ammunitions and four sachets of crystalline substance believe to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as "shabu."
