#SHORTS: Chinese woman carrying P6.2-M shabu nabbed at Cebu airport; 1 dead, 2 hurt in Bacolod fire; Hinatuan Mining told to stop transporting nickel ore stockpile

BUSTED. A Chinese woman was arrested upon her arrival at the Mactan Cebu International Airport Wednesday morning because she allegedly carried about four kilos of crystal meth, locally known as "shabu".

TRAGEDY. A man was burned to death while two others were injured in a fire that hit 31 houses at Purok Langis, Barangay Banago in Bacolod City on Thursday dawn.

MINING. Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Regina Paz Lopez has ordered the Hinatuan Mining Corp. (HMC), an affiliate of Nickel Asia Corp. (NAC), to stop the removal and loading of the mining wastes from Manicani mine in Guian, Eastern Samar to prevent further environmental degradation as a result of excessive soil extraction.
