CITY OF SAN FERNANDO- Three Kapampangan congressmen were among the 56 members of the House of Representatives who posted perfect attendance during the 17th Congress from July 27, 2015 to June 6, 2016.
Records in the Lower House showed that among the 290 congressmen, at least 20 percent had a perfect attendance record.
Among the 56 who were present for 23 days when the roll call was made are representatives Juan Pablo "Rimpy" P. Bondoc of the Fourth District, former Congressman Oscar Rodriguez of the Third District, and former Butil Partylist Representative Agapito "Pits" Guanlao.
There are 52 session days during the said period but due to the lack of quorum, forced House leaders not to check the attendance in 29 days.
In a phone interview, Bondoc, the deputy majority floor leader, said that he is just doing his job as the duly elected representative of his district.
"Buri tamu mung pabalu kareng cabalen tamu na gagawan tayang masalese ing obra tamu king Congresu (We just want our cabalens that we are doing our job in Congress)," Bondoc said.
Sun.Star Pampanga tried to get in touch with former Congressman Rodriguez but was told he was out of the country.
Meanwhile, Guanlao, who finished his term as representative of Butil Partylist said that it has been a privilege to work in Congress for the benefit of farmers.
"Masaya tamung lalakwan ing katunkulan tamu bilang represantanti ning Butil Farmers Partylist, uling balu tamu atin magsundu king lakwan tamung obra keni Congresu (I will leave the Butil Farmers Partylist happy because I know someone will continue our work in Congress)," Guanlao said.
