PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III has expressed belief that Senator Grace Poe could be one among those who could continue the reforms that he started in government.
But the Chief Executive refused to confirm if he would endorse the lady senator as his presidential bet, saying that consultations with his Liberal Party and other members of the coalition continue.
Naniniwala tayong tama ‘yung kanyang mga pananaw or nasa tamang direksyon ang gusto niyang tahakin at ‘yung importante sa akin na mapanatili ‘yung coalition na talaga namang sobrang ganda ‘nung resulta natin ‘nung 2013," he said in an interview by Bombo Radyo Philippines aired Thursday.
He maintained that he would only name his presidential bet by June since consultations continue.
Some LP members have said that they would push for Poe as the running mate of Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas II, whom they would endorse as their standard bearer.
Aquino also said that he expects the debate for the 2016 polls to focus on who would continue government reforms.
"So lahat sila mag-aangkinan, ‘ako ang tamang magpapatuloy at magpapalaki pa ‘nung nagawa nitong papalitan.'
The President said that they were also in the process of selecting the senatorial bets. (SDR/Sunnex)
