AN ALLEGED known drug pusher was killed in a shootout with policemen in an anti-drug operation in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Wednesday, July 27.
Senior Superintendent Edwin Wagan, Zamboanga del Norte police director, identified the slain suspect as Felebert Magsayo, 36, alias Langga of Disud village, Sindangan town.
Wagan said the suspect was killed in a shootout with policemen around 11:50 p.m. Monday in the village of Mandi, Sindangan.
The official said the shootout ensued when the suspect pulled a handgun and opened fire upon sensing the person he was dealing prohibited drugs is a policeman.
He said the suspect was rushed to the district hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Wagan said the arresting team recovered a calibre .38 revolver of the suspect with two live ammunitions, a motorcycle, P500 marked money, and five heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu.
He said the remains of the suspect was turned-over to his brother, Bernabe Magsayo, for proper disposition. (Bong Garcia)
