FATHER Felix Pasquin, rector of San Sebastian Cathedral, said on Thursday that everything is ready for the installation of Bishop Patricio Buzon the next bishop of the Diocese of Bacolod on August 9.
Buzon himself will deliver the homily during the Holy Mass for the occasion, Pasquin said.
Twenty bishops from all over the country have already confirmed attendance for the installation. The mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Giuseppe Pinto, Papal Nuncio to the Philippines.
At 7:30 a.m., all the bishops and clergies will gather at the Bishop’s House for the vesting to be followed by the procession around the plaza before the 9 a.m. mass and installation rites.
Pasquin said that Catholic schools in Hinigaran town and other localities, including Kabankalan City, will send students to line up beside the highway where the bishop and his entourage will pass by going to Bacolod in the afternoon of August 8.
Buzon and his party will stop in Hinigaran, the first town under the Diocese of Bacolod, and enter the Saint Mary Magdalene Church for a short prayer. Buzon will also be given the official seal of the Diocese of Bacolod by Orlando Gargar.
Upon his arrival at the San Sebastian Cathedral at about 4:30 p.m. on August 8, at the main door, Buzon will kiss the Holy Cross held by Pasquin and then proceed to the altar for the Te Deum.
