Budget hotel for Davao City guests

IN TIME for the Kadayawan Festival, tourists will be welcomed by Davao City with more accommodation rooms as Go Hotels Lanang-Davao will be fully operational by the last week of August.

Last Saturday, the budget hotel, first hotel project of the joint venture between Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) and Udenna Development Corp. (Udevco) had its soft launch. It is located at Phoenix Lanang Complex on Km. 7, J.P. Laurel, Lanang, this city.

With the opening of the 183-room hotel, Davao City’s room accommodation will reach over 8,000.

“Davao City has been a promising city, we’ve been looking here as our area of expansion some four years ago, now is a very good situation to make our presence here in Davao City as it strengthened its position as the country’s meetings, incentives, conferencing, exhibitions (Mice) hub,” Elizabeth Kristine D. Gregorio, general manager of the Robinsons Hotel and Resorts said in a media press briefing and exclusive tour last Saturday.

Go Hotel Lanang-Davao is the 10th and newest branch in the country, second in Mindanao. Go Hotels Butuan opened in December 2014.

“Our nationwide total room inventory (TRI), with the Davao branch reached to a total of 1,403. The branch here is by far the largest in the country,” she said.

When asked on how much investment the company poured on the project, Gregorio was quick to add that the hotel has a total investment of some P366-million.

Also, by the end of this month, the 200-seater function room of the hotel will be made available. The hotel will be an eight-storey establishment, four of which will be dedicated for guestrooms while the remaining two will be for function rooms, lobby and restaurant.

For early bookings, guests can enjoy the hotel services for as low as P388 for an overnight stay.

“We have twin, queen, and Persons With Disability (PWD0 rooms, each averaging 18 sqm., guests can enjoy and relax in their stay here as we offer quality services to every Juan,” she added.

Fast forward to 2017, TRI of the hotel chain will reach 1,503 rooms when it opens in Iligan City.

“Weare optimistic of the whole of Mindanao, now, Iligan is our next stop as we also have our Robinsons Mall there, our direction is always construct whenever the malls are, of course, considering the hotel market of the expansion area,” Gregorio said.

“We open as many hotels in the cities from North to Southern part of this country, we are always optimistic about expanding with the robust economy of the country,” she added.
