Cordi cops undergo patrol, anti-illegal drugs training

NINETY-FIVE police officers from the Cordillera regional office will intensify their ranks as they undergo a weeklong seminar on patrol operations and anti-illegal drugs operations at Camp Bado Dangwa starting Monday.

The law enforcers will take on courses on “Managing Police and Patrol Operations” and seminar on the “Revised PNP Anti-illegal Drugs Operation and Investigation” to further extend the police’s expertise.

The personnel training is in compliance with the PNP central office’s requirement to develop and improve the police force in all the regional offices of the country.

According to PRO-Cordillera, the pioneering class for the region will be filling the need to improve competencies of the various operations accomplished by the authorities.

Patrol operations will mainly act in developing proficiency in executing police interventions and approach to crime problems and patrol management.

The revised anti-illegal drug operations on the other hand will strengthen the operations directed to the capture of personalities vending, pushing, and using drugs.

Meanwhile, PRO-Cor regional director and C/Supt. Elmo Sarona reminded the importance of good police-community relation in their duties.

“Police-Community Relation is important in a reason, how can you extract information from the people kung walang trust and confidence.

You can never be efficient in you operations kung hindi nakikipag-cooperate ang tao sa inyo and you can never come up with an objective investigation because all of this is inter-related,” Sarona said.

Sarona also emphasized to keep the PNP’s credibility in following protocols in such as issuing search warrants for the intensified drug war operations mandated by the national government.

The seminar/training is part of the culmination activities of the PNP’s 21st Police Community Relations month. Earlier, PRO-Cor awarded Police Inspertor Faith Ayan Igualdo from Kalinga PPO as the Best PCR Public Information Officer of the Year.
