Mexican drug cartel now in Philippines – Duterte

SINALOA Cartel, Mexico's most powerful organized crime group, has already entered the Philippine territory through transshipment, President Rodrigo Duterte said on Wednesday.

"Is Mexico into us? Yes… their Sinaloa cartel [is already in the Philippines]. They are now here through transshipment. Sinaloa Cartel is active here," the President told delegates of Pastoral Parish Council for Responsible Voting during their meeting at Palace's Rizal Hall.

Sinaloa Cartel, which is primarily involved in the distribution of illegal drugs, is considered the most powerful drug trafficking organization in the world.

Standing pat on his intensified campaign against narcotics trade, Duterte reiterated that he would put his "honor, live, and presidency at stake" just to curb the proliferation of drugs in the country.

"I am willing to upset the consequences. I assume the responsibility and it is okay for me whatever happens," Duterte said.

"You want me to fight drug war? I am not fighting the crisis, I am fighting the war [against narcotics]," he added. (Sunnex)
