THREE brothers and two other men were arrested for drugs in separate buy-busts by operatives of the Lapu-Lapu City Intelligence Branch (CIB).
Siblings Dennis, 42; Eric, 30; and Randy, 27; all surnamed Paquibot were arrested in Sitio Pagutlan, Barangay Maribago at 5:30 p.m. last Tuesday.
Chief Insp. Mark Gifter Sucalit of CIB said that Dennis is reportedly included in the Police Station 2 watchlist of drug suspects.
The three, though, Sucalit said, were not among those who presented themselves to the police for the Oplan Tokhang program in Lapu-Lapu.
The Paquibot siblings were reportedly arrested after closing a deal for a sachet of suspected shabu from a police decoy.
After the buy-bust, the suspects also allegedly yielded nine sachets and one medium pack of suspected shabu, cash and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Prior to the arrest of the Paquibot brothers, police arrested 45-year-old Peter Bismark Pepito, alias Macky, in a buy-bust near his residence in Sangi Interior, Barangay Pajo at 5:20 p.m.
A police decoy allegedly bought one sachet of suspected shabu from Pepito that led to his arrest.
Police reportedly confiscated a black canister with 17 sachets and four medium sizes of suspected shabu inside. The confiscated drugs was estimated to be about P30,900, according to the value set by the Dangerous Drugs Board.
At 2:30 a.m. yesterday, another drug suspect identified as Benjamin Pahugot, 35, jobless and a resident in Sitio Mahayahay, Barangay Bankal was also arrested by the police. The anti-drug operation was conducted in Sitio Mahayahay.
He is reportedly a level 2 drug pusher, which means that he could dispose of at least 200 grams of shabu every week, and has been included in the watchlist of alleged drug personalities.
Sucalit said that the five suspects will face complaints for violating Sections 5 (selling) and 11 (possession) of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Dan Henly N. Cuizon, USJ-R Comm Intern
