A SUSPECTED drug pusher was shot dead by a lone gunman in Barangay Sacsac, Dalaguete in Cebu around 12 a.m. Monday, August 1.

The victim was identified as Loreto Cabungcag, a vulcanizing shop operator and a resident of Barangay Sacsac, Dalaguete, Cebu.

According to the victim's wife, Rowena Cabungcag, both of them were asleep when an unidentified person came to their shop and pretended to be a customer. While Loreto was preparing his tools, the man pulled out a handgun and shot Loreto twice in the head.

The gunman fled from the scene.

Recovered from the scene were one slug of an undetermined caliber of a hand gun and two small heat-sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline granules believed to be "shabu."

Initial investigation revealed that the Dalaguete police earlier conducted "Operation Tokhang" and knocked on the victim's house after receiving report of the latter's involvement in illegal drug trade.

The victim, though, has continued with his operations using his vulcanizing shop as disguise. (Quincy Jones A. Adriano, USJR intern/Sunnex)
