Drug suspect resists arrest, shot dead in Tabuelan

A DRUG suspect was shot dead after he resisted arrest on Thursday, August 4, in Barangay Tabunok, Tabuelan, Cebu.

The suspect was identified as Michael Andrade Porio, of legal age, and a resident of the area.

A team of police, led by Senior Inspector Roy Emperwa, was serving the warrant of arrest when Porio pulled out a firearm and fired at the policemen, prompting the cops to fire back.

Porio was then rushed to Juan Dosado Memorial Hospital, Damolog, Sogod, Cebu, but he was declared dead on arrival.

Recovered from Porio were 16 small heat-sealed transparent sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be "shabu," one colt mk 9mm pistol with three live ammunitions, and several drug paraphernalia. (Quincy Jones A. Adriano, USJR intern/Sunnex)
