AT LEAST 13 barangays in nine towns in Cebu and four district hospitals in the province are set to receive vehicles from the Provincial Government, an official said Friday.
Barangays Guizo and Bakilid in Mandaue City will each get two motorcycles. One motorcycle is worth P73,800, said Cebu Provincial General Service Office head Jone Siegfred Sepe.
Those that will get new multicabs that are worth P204,500 each are barangays Casay, Talaga, Balisong and Bulasa of Argao; Balungag in San Fernando; Manlapay, Dalaguete; Daanlungsod, Oslob; Haclupan in Talisay; La Paz in Bogo; San Miguel, San Remigio; and Polog, Consolacion.
Four new ambulances, meanwhile, will be turned over to the four district hospitals of Argao, Barile, Pinamungajan and Badian.
Sepe said the vehicles will be distributed Saturday, August 6, upon the request of the barangays who sent resolutions to the office of Governor Hilario Davide III.
"Kadtong mga nagpada ni guv og barangay resolution, unya ilang gitagaan og pag tagad. Sama sa una, kung kinsa tong nahimoan ug purchase request, sila ang mahatagan (Those who sent requests to the governor will be given)," Sepe said.
He clarified that the vehicles are still owned by the Capitol, considering there is no direct city ordinance about it yet, but Davide is planning to ask for authority from Provincial Board to make it a donation instead.
"Wala pa tay city ordinance bahin ana, under the province of Cebu pa. But ang kasabotan is ilaha ang maintenance, ila ang gasolina, ang province lang ang mu-rehistro ug magpa-insure," Sepe said.
Last July, a meeting with the Department of Health and Capitol was conducted to tackle the repair of all district and provincial hospitals in Cebu after a round-up was conducted. (Samuel Carlve Saberon, USJR intern/Sunnex)
