WE ALL love new things - new clothes, new shoes, new car. We are excited about new beginnings - a new boy/girlfriend, a new career, a new project. What is so special about the word “new?” “New” connotes freshness, originality, and novelty. Don’t you just love what is fresh, original and novel? “What’s new” usually brings with it excitement, enthusiasm, and joy. Think of a new baby! A new club (whether it’s Toastmasters or not!) A new spouse!
But, when we make mistakes (especially with relationships,) and our hearts hurt, don’t we sometimes wish we could start over again? Start anew? We want a new beginning, a fresh start, a new day.
The good news is God makes all things “new.” Lamentations 3:22-23 says, “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” What beautiful words! “They are new every morning.” God gives us new opportunities every new day that we wake up. Every morning brings with it a chance to see things in a new and fresh perspective.
Feeling hopeless? Start afresh daily with God’s steadfast love. They are new every morning! Everyday that we wake up, God gives us a brand new 24 hours. We get to make new choices. Let us choose wisely. Let us choose life over death, good over evil, and light over darkness. Let us always be guided by God’s commandments, and do the right thing in life! Choose God’s fresh, never changing, and never-ending love.
My Dearest SunStar Readers,
Thanks to God’s grace and infinite mercy, He has allowed me to become a published author, just like my idol, Mike del Rosario. This is “What’s not so new anymore” with me, since my book “Daily Doodles and Devotions,” was launched two months ago already. “What’s not new,” also is every single day that I wake up, I remain blessed. It’s a choice I make, which I hope, you, too will do. Choose to see and accept God’s abundant blessings every single day. They are new every morning. God’s love is steadfast and it never ceases. He is ever faithful, even if we are not. How utterly blessed we all are. So tell me, what’s new?
“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”
– Psalm 136:1
