Capitol workers to get P15T anniversary bonus, says guv

CEBU Gov. Hilario Davide III announced yesterday that each Capitol employee will receive P15,000 as an anniversary bonus.

Davide said the Provincial Board members may pass the P21-million-plus supplemental budget in their session tomorrow to fund the anniversary bonus of 1,432 employees.

The Province is celebrating its 447th founding anniversary this month.

An anniversary program was held at the Capitol yesterday.

This year’s theme is Serbisyo nga Tinud-anay, Kalamboan nga Tiunay (Sincere Service for Genuine Progress).

Davide wished everyone to perform their best as government workers, especially in his programs for health, education and clean water.

Davide said that this year’s celebration is the same as those in previous years, except for the scrapping of Gabii sa Sugbo, where prominent members of the society and government officials gathered for dinner.

This year’s highlights include the Bangga sa Kanta (singing competition) and the Farmers’ Day on Aug. 12, which will award farmers.

“We will be inviting our constituents and give them a chance to visit Capitol and our offices,” Davide said.

In yesterday’s anniversary program, the different departments presented musical and dance numbers. The personnel of the legislative department won first prize, followed by the service planners and the executive branch, respectively.

A surprise comical skit was presented by the PB, with Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale as producer and director.

In the presentation entitled Tokhang, former PB member now Talisay City Councilor Julian Daan, acting as narrator, said, “Ang pag-practice ani ang labing lisod, so kini karon rehearsal ra ni (The real thing is the most difficult, so this is just a rehearsal).”

Alegre kaayo, mayo ang pagkabuhat sa scipt, nakalingaw kaayo (It’s fun),” Davide said.

PB Member Alex Binghay acted as President Rodrigo Duterte and PB Members Sun Shimura, Edsel Galleos and Glen Bercede acted as the PNP Generals accused by the president of being drug protectors.

PB Members Miguel Magpale, Yollie Daan, Tata Corominas, Tata Salvador and Raul Bacaltos acted as drug lords. PB Member Christoper Baricuatro acted as a drug lord bodyguard.

PB Member Jonkie Ouano and Jerome Librando acted as policemen.

Davide described the presentation as relevant.
