SWU Cobras beat defending champ USC Warriors, 68-54

THE Southwestern University (SWU)-Cobras won the season debut game against the defending champions University of San Carlos (USC)-Warriors, 68-54, on Sunday evening, August 7, at the New Cebu Coliseum, Cebu City.

Both teams, with 10 new players in their line-up, battle their way to get the win, but the Cobras, led by the leadership of former two-time Cesafi Most Valuable Player Mark Tallo, nailed the victory.

The Warriors went on a shooting display in the early parts of the game with three consecutive 3 pointers courtesy of Kevin Oleodo, but the wingman was unable to continue the shooting streak throughout the game.

The Cobras managed to contain Scothy Ntumba by the efforts of Quintin Nzuzi in the big man match-up.

SWU Cobras now have a 1-0 (win-loss), while the Warriors started the season with a 0-1 (win-loss) record.
