THE local police have intercepted a shipment of undocumented gasoline with an estimated worth of more than P200,000 in an east coast village of Zamboanga City.

Superintendent Nonito Asdai, Police Station 6 chief, said the gasoline shipment was intercepted around 7:40 p.m., Sunday, August 7, in the coastal village of Arena Blanco.

Asdai said the gasoline shipment was intercepted by the patrolling policemen from the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company (ZCPSC).

Asdai said the policemen rushed to the village of Arena Blanco following receipt of report that two suspicious vehicles loaded with containers are on standby at the coast of the village.

He said when inspected, the policemen found out that the two vehicles were loaded with 199 containers of 30 liters each of gasoline.

He said the gasoline as well as the two vehicles was seized after Alwedz Bani Atara, the person in charge of the gasoline shipment failed to show documents such as official receipt and permit to transport from the Bureau of Fire Protection. (Bong Garcia)
